Zombie '90: Extreme Pestilence (1990)

From the Box: "A military vehicle carrying untested lethal chemicals crashes in a forest, a dead patient comes back to life in an operating room, and mutilated bodies are being found all over the country.A new epidemic has broken out, the "Extreme Pestilence." Two doctors discover the epidemic and take on the hopeless fight against the living dead."

What You Get: A bonus movie that makes the purchase of Zombie Doom worth it (assuming you didn't pay that much to begin with). While the story is lacking in logic, at least you get zombies and the appropriate gore to go with it.

Origin of Zombies: Military plane carrying "mysterious chemical" crashes, zombie infestation breaks out.

Zombie Traits: Appearance, 'death' by decapitation or head wound (as in shot to the head), staggered walking, eating of human flesh

Unzombie Traits: Use of weapons (chainsaw!)

The "Heroes": 2 doctors

Zombie Killing Weapons of Choice: hand guns/pistols, machete, axe, the biggest butcher knife in Germany, chainsaw(!)

The Goals: Find origin of zombies, kill the zombies

End Result: After killing a bunch of zombies our heroes both end up zombie chow. Yes, the zombies have taken over.

Zombie Rating: (very convincing zombies, but they use weapons waaaayyy too much)

Notes: Filmed in German, dubbed in English: white doctor sounds like a black man straight outta Harlem (hilarious choice), while other doctor sounds super geeky.

The make up of the zombies varies from 'deadish' looking to navy blue... yes, navy blue colored zombies. The zombies eat flesh, but some choose to use knives or chainsaws to cut up their meal, if you know what I mean. Do zombies now have some table manners? Should also be said that the living dead, like the dead dead, hae congealed blood... these zombies however gush BUCKETS of blood.

After going on a zombie-killing spree our hero (the black dubbed one) gets knocked out and has a dream sequence (I guess) where he's trapped in his abandoned childhood home- filled with zombies- with a very Evil Dead like sequence of events including the Force Cam (done badly). He wakes up only to be eaten by a zombie.

It's never determined how there are so many zombies, or how it spreads seeing as how no one bit comes back, being bled on by zombies does nothing, and being in the epicenter unprotected also has no effect. But still good "zombies are everywhere" effect, even if unexplanable.

New tourism motto should be "Welcome to Germany where every crappy car comes with a pistol and every zombie comes with a really big knife!"

And one last thing: since when do doctors carry guns with them at all times? I pity those without medical insurance in that territory.
