Spider-Man (Widescreen Special Edition)(2002)

From the Box: nothing but DVD features

What You Get: Sam Raimi's directorial attempt (and mucho success) Spider-Man. It's an origin story, and it's Spider-Man taking on the Green Goblin in wild ass ride. I know whatever I type won't do justice to how good I think this movie is, but I'll try.
Meet Peter Parker, high school student and soon-to-be-graduate. He has a long standing crush on his neighboor, he's considered a geek (though doesn't really act like that big of one), and his only friend is rich kid Harry Osbourne who's only in public school because he's been bounced out of every private school around. Harry's dad, Norman, loves Peter for his brain. Anyway on a field trip young Peter gets bit by a genetically altered (not radioactive!) spider, which makes our boy go from thin and glass wearing to super stud with 20/20... and more!
Watch as he becomes a hero, suffers loss, gets the girl, and saves the day.
Also Raimi busts out some of his known techniques, sometimes making this feel like a good horror movie and not just a wham-bam action flick.

Movie Rating: 5 (of 5) This movie is golden. I don't think I've met someone who's seen this movie and said "oh, it fucking sucked". Even if you're not a comic book geek you can dig into this movie.

DVD Rating: 5(of 5) Oh my god this has ALOT. To make matters even more full I happened to get the (Best Buy exclusive?) Limited Edition DVD Collector's Gift Set that came with this, Stan Lee's Mutants, Monsters, and Marvels, reprint of Amazing Fantasy #15, collectible senitype film cel, lithograph reproduction by John Romita Senior & Junior. So basically what I got's a 6 out of 5.
Of course with Spider-Man 3's release they've put out yet another edition of this DVD, so read the features to know how (better?) it stacks up.
