Children of the Living Dead (2001) From the Box: "The plague continues... When Matthew Michaels arrives in a rural town in Pennsylvania to fulfill his father's wishes of developing a small, seemingly innocent piece of land, it marks the beginning of a horrifying phenomenon. The land is an old cemetery and those buried there are awakened and begin to walk the earth once again. "Now, the hunt is on, as the lving dead stalk their prey, arising from the shadows and terrorizing and killing the townspeople. And with the taste of human flesh in their mouth, the hunger of the deadly zombies intensifies. "Your worst fears have become a reality. Pray for a quick death" What You Get: A sequel to another zombie flick (I'll let you know which when I find out), which starts off with zombies everywhere, but being successfully wiped out by local law enforcement... except one zombie. Years later that one zombie has come back and is creating more zombies, some who get put into coffins and buried. Another year passes and that's where the description from the box becomes accurate. Once you get past the confusing parts like that it returns to standard zombie fare, and fun for the whole family! Origin of Zombies: Spread by bite or death by zombie. Being bit by a zombie even after being long dead makes a zombie as well Zombie Traits: Killed by headshot, staggering, dead appearance, bitey Unzombie Traits: See "Notes" The "Heroes": .A girl who survived zombies 14 years ago, the son of a car dealer, the forman of a construction team, a sheriff, the construction crew Zombie Killing Weapons of Choice: All forms of firearms (only head shots kill the undead) The Goals: Hide in diner, get help, survive, kill the zombies with help End Result: Sheriff & some construction crew die, and all zombies but "Abbott Hayes" get destroyed, opening for yet another potential sequal Zombie Rating: Notes: Whatever zombie movie Tom Savini starred in, this is a sequal to (as well as a sequal to "Night of the Living Dead") Despite being bit causes zombification, one person doesn't turn. The main cause is a serial killer turned zombie - who's managed to stay hiding for 14-15 years. The killer is very Ed Gein in origin. All zombies are very zombie-like except for the lead zombie (Abbott Hayes), who seems to think, take his time, and not neccessarily bite-to-kill type. Big questions though: How & why would a zombie hide & not bite/kill/attack anyone for 14 years? How & why would seven zombies hide & not bite/kill/attack for 1 year? Very unzombie like behavior. Zombies don't eat children? According to this flick they don't. |
